Skill : intermediate

Required Material:

  • yarn in the desired color
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook
  • Filling material
  • Black beads or eyes
  • Sewing needle

Step 1- Leg (2 pieces):
Tour 1: 11 sc in a magic ring [11]
Tour 2-4: sc in all 11 st [11]
Fold in half and close the opening by crocheting 5 sc through both layers.

Step 2- Wing (2 pieces):
Tour 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Tour 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Tour 3: (sc in the next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Tour 4: (sc in the next 5 st, inc) repeat 3 times [21]
Tour 5-12: sc in all 21 st [21]
Fold the wing in half and close the opening by crocheting 10 sc through both layers.

Step 3- Beak:
Tour 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Tour 2: (sc in the next st, inc) repeat 3 times [9]
Tour 3: (sc in the next 2 st, inc) repeat 3 times [12]

Fasten off. Leave a tail for sewing, cut the yarn.

Step 4- Eye whites (2 pieces):
Tour 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Tour 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]

Leave the tail for sewing, cut the yarn.

Step 5- Head-body:
Tour 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Tour 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Tour 3: (sc in the next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Tour 4: (sc in the next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
Tour 5: (sc in the next 3 st, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
Tour 6: (sc in the next 4 st, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
Tour 7: (sc in the next 5 st, inc) repeat 6 times [42]
Tour 8-15: sc in all 42 st [42]
Tour 16: (sc in the next 5 st, inc) repeat 7 times [49]

Wings are joined in the next round.
Tour 21: Crochet 9 sc, start attaching the first wing.

On the back rings of the wing (mark it in red in the photo below) and from the stitches of the previous trunk lap (simultaneously attach the hook from the wing and the trunk), do more sc in the next 16 st opposite the trunk, the second flap and the top 10 across the trunk sc (first as you do the wing), sc in the next 9 sc of the body [54]

Tour 22: Look at Tour 21, but use the front rings of the wings.

Fill it tightly. Put some poly pellets on your stomach to add some weight.

Close the opening. Secure. Hide the tail into the body.

Step 6- Belly:

Tour 4: (sc in the next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
Tour 5: (inc, sc in the next 3 st) repeat 6 times [30]
Tour 6: (sc in the next 4 st, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
Tour 7: (inc, sc in the next 5 st) repeat 6 times [42]
Fasten off. Leave a tail for sewing, cut the yarn. Sew to the body.

Step 7- Winter cap:

See the picture below as an example of making a hat.
Twist 22-26 ch + 1 ch crochet for lifting. The exact number of chains depends on the head size, try on the penguin to go to the next step.
Second row: hdc on each stitch to the end, 1 channel for lifting, turn
The third line and all of the following: hdc in each stitch only in the BACKBACK to the end, 1 channel, turn
Finally, you get a rectangle, the length of which is equal to the perimeter of the head. Fold this rectangle in half and stitch it as a pipe.
Stitch over the tube to collect the edges using the sewing needle. Remove the hat, decorate it with a pompom.

Step 8- Scarf:
Make a chain of desired length.
Tour 1: starting from second ch from hook: sc in all st, turn.
Tour 2: 1 ch, sc in all st.
Fasten off. Make some fringes at the ends of the scarf.
